From the diverse Diptera (True Flies) Family Psychodidae hence we are not using their specific scientific names as this requires taxonomic works. Laboratory research to be exact.
They are small with short, hairy bodies and wings giving them a “furry” moth-like appearance, hence one of their common names, moth flies.
